As July approaches, the Magicians summer wedding season really gets into full swing. In this blog I will talk a little about some of my recent performances, some unique entertainment ideas/performers I have come across during these performances and give some tips about booking entertainment for your special event.
Since my most recent blog in March, I have been busier than ever! I have been a magician at corporate events (see above the image at EPICURE at the Celtic Manor), at small intimate weddings of 50 guests and extremely large weddings with 750 guests, to christenings, birthday celebration events and even at an afternoon tea.

Photo booths
At almost all of the events I have performed in, there has been a photo booth of some sort, this seems to be a standard requirement at events in recent times. Although photo booths are not a new 'thing' guests still seem to really enjoy them.
Living statues
Prior to the past few months I had never seen these at weddings but I have seen them in two separate events in this period. The performers are what you would expect to see in city centres, people dressed and painted like a statue, some do look particularly magical, others are terrible! I believe the idea of hiring this type of performer is to both have something different but also to potentially scare guests and make them jump, with humorous intentions.
Musicians
Everything from a DJ, to live singer, harpist, singing waiters and string quartet. Music is a must for entertainment ideas at weddings, corporate events and most other special events. All of the musicians have been excellent, its a question of taste and style to suit your event. If you would like to have any of their contact details I would be more than happy to supply them. Chocolate fountains
These used to be a very popular, especially at weddings. I have only seen one in all of the events I have performed at during this period and to be honest, it seemed to hardly be used.

Whatever your event, there a numerous wonderful things and performers that are available for hire. Chances are, if your looking for wedding entertainment ideas then it will be the last thing on your very long list of things to sort out. Be aware that the very best entertainers are booked a long time in advance so act as quickly as possible to ensure you are not disappointed.
