I have just got home from a great day performing and thought I would do a short blog on the awesome wedding of Hayley and Alex at Hensol Castle this afternoon.
I thoroughly enjoyed performing as a wedding magician today, Alex & Hayley's guests were great fun and it was amazing to see the awesome Studio Cwtch wedding photography there, check them out by clicking here.! I perform at a lot of weddings and often see couples and guests frustrated with the photographers for various reasons, but can honestly say that the way Studio Cwtch interact with people is simply phenomenal and the quality of their end product speaks for itself.
The atmosphere at the wedding was great, it is something that is not often thought about and planned for but today is was absolutely spot on.
The wedding guests were a mixture of ages but all were great fun to perform for. I loved meeting Mr Boombastic and the others, some of which you can see have signed the cards above.
I decided that I would vary some of the things I perform today. When I am performing as a wedding magician, I often mix up sleight of hand and mind reading but today was a little different and I incorporated an effect or too that I used to perform many years ago.
I performed during the photo period, which is traditionally after the ceremony, before the wedding breakfast. This is a great time for magic and I think it is my favourite time at a wedding to perform.
This is a favourite effect of mine. I ask someone to think of something from their childhood, something I could not possibly know and then I proceed to guess it!
Mind reading is something that gets more gasps than applause and it often takes a moment for what has happened to sink in. Please excuse the language.
